GIFs are animated files that are compressed images that play a short animation like an MP4 without audio. Due to their small size it means they can easily be used for animation or show small clips from movies or tv shows to help convey a point PJEGs are compressed images that help reduce the size of the film by removing image data whilst still retaining the original image but reducing quality PNGs are used to distribute photos online, their small size also allow for transparency to be kept for editing in photoshop PSDs are Photoshop files, these are easily transferable for editing whilst still including the layers to be edited whenever needed TIFs are extremely large image files which are not as compressed as JPEGs or PNGs and retain their original image quality. However due to their file size being 7x that of a PNG or JPEG it means uploading them is near on impossible and should only be used for print graphics
